(ECNS) -- The 3rd Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products & Achievements was held from June 5 to 7, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The State Grid Shanghai showcased practical achievements in new productive forces through five major exhibition zones, including advancing high-quality development of State Grid, leading the main force in new power system construction, accelerating clean and low-carbon transition, developing new productive forces, and building up a clean and beautiful world.
The exhibition site featured numerous cutting-edge innovations. One standout was the Direct Air Carbon Capture Equipment, which drew significant interests. Its modular design—featuring absorption towers, regeneration units, and auxiliary systems—promises low-energy, high-efficiency carbon removal at scale.
Equally impressive was the world's first kilometer-length 35kV superconducting cable demonstration project, deployed by State Grid in Shanghai’s Xuhui central business district. As the first urban superconducting grid project, it addresses critical bottlenecks in high-density power transmission while achieving breakthroughs in core technologies.
Nearby, an immersive VR experience invited visitors to explore offshore wind farm integration through interactive simulations. Other highlights included superconducting reactors and inspection robots, showcasing State Grid’s innovative strength in smart grid solutions and decarbonization tech.
Looking ahead, State Grid will continue to advance energy technology innovation, expand platform service capabilities, and work with all sectors to promote collaborative innovation in green technologies, injecting strong momentum into the realization of China’s dual carbon goals.
