(ECNS) -- A Shanghai company on Thursday unveiled the AgiBot A2, the world's first humanoid robot to receive safety and quality certifications from China, the European Union, and the United States.
This marks the first humanoid robot in the world to achieve simultaneous certification across the three major global markets.
At the 2025 Zhangjiang Embodied Intelligence Developers Conference, Tian Jinsong, vice president of the Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute, awarded the CR001 certificate to the AgiBot A2 robot.
Receiving China's first CR certification is authoritative recognition of product safety and intelligence, said Wang Chuang, president of AgiBot' General Business Division, noting that it proves the robot's ability to operate securely and efficiently in complex and diverse environments.
CR certification evaluates multiple dimensions, including mechanical and electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, functional safety, and intelligent performance. Passing this rigorous review signals that AgiBot A2 meets a high bar of technological maturity, reliability, and safety.
